Learning

Little Elms uses Birth to 5 Matters as a guide for teaching and learning milestones and incorporates the 7
areas of the EYFS Framework into our teaching approaches.

Routines vary for our babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers but each day consists of circle/group time, focused activities, indoor and outdoor play. Breakfast, Lunch and Tea are provided along with afternoon snack.

We often do trips to local parks, libraries, museums and aquariums.

We have a School Readiness program to help our pre-schoolers learn independence with dressing themselves and hygiene. We also have qualified teachers providing additional classes to small groups of pre-schoolers to get them ready for school.

Little Elms have our own SENCO who oversees all our nurseries, supporting branch managers with children who have additional needs.

We hold sport sessions every week for preschoolers and a music class for babies and toddlers.

Staffing

From apprentices to Level 5 qualified practitioners, at least 50% of the staff at each nursery is qualified.

Each nursery has Manager, Deputy Manager, and a 3rd in Charge. Additionally, each room has a Room Manager who reports to the main management team.

A Key Person is assigned to a set of children to track their development progress each term and make reports based on this, and communicate with the parents on their progress.

Facilities

Communication
